CSRNZ Challenges business to embrace ESG in their strategies
HARARE – The country’s premier national representative board for Sustainability, CSR Network Zimbabwe has implored local businesses to make environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues an integral part of their business strategies to keep pace with global sustainability trends and to accelerate socio-economic development of the country.
CSRNZ said it is high time that all companies should consider taking ESG seriously since issues around environment and circular economy have lately become of central importance within globally companies and are used to enhance brand visibility to investors who uses ESG as bench mark of suitability for funding.
Meanwhile, the CSRNZ has applauded the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) for developing a framework that compels businesses to embed ESG in their strategies. As part of the key conditions for the public procurement process, PRAZ now requires companies and individuals seeking to do business with the Government, and all its arms to satisfy PRAZ requirements on ESGs.
