The CSR Network Zimbabwe (CSRNZ) which is the country’s premier board for Corporate Social Responsibility will again this year join the world in celebrating World CSR Day to appreciate and acknowledge efforts and strides being made by companies investing in communities where they operate.
In an interview with CSR Network Zimbabwe Executive Director, Willard Razawo said CSR DAY commemorations is a voluntary initiative, aimed at creating significance awareness among key stakeholders helping in building of healthy CSR ecosystem.
“It is a day to look back in your CSR journey and plan for next phase of CSR”, he added.
In fact, CSRNZ has declared the whole of February as Zimbabwe CSR month where it will be working with its members to carry out various sustainable empowerment activities during the course of the month. World CSR Day which is set for the 18th of February is celebrated worldwide every year.
The main objective to celebrate World CSR Day is to provide a common platform for individuals, corporates, government agencies, NGOs, civil society, academics and any other groups with an interest in Corporate Social Responsibility to share and exchange ideas on CSR Best Practices.
